High School students from across the Central Coast attended the WorldSkills Australia Try a Skill Day, hosted by TAFE NSW at the Ourimbah Campus, on June 20.
The Try a Skill event offered students and early school leavers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with various trades and vocations. Industry specialists were readily available to answer questions, demonstrate their trade, and to provide immediate feedback for students. The day was capped off by a free barbecue lunch, whilst students moved freely around the event learning about a number of trades and skills, ranging from: electrical, beauty, plumbing and first aid, right through to community and emergency services.
