Finalists in Australia’s Biggest Early Years Education Awards have been announced, including two from the Central Coast’s North.
Ms Chantell Fozzard of Holistic Approach Family Day Care, Killarney Vale, and Strawberry Field Cottage Child Care Centre, Kanwal, is up for awards in the Educator of the Year and Service of the Year categories.
Ms Cassandra Weymouth of Jelli Beanz Kindergarten is also up for the Educator of the Year.
Selected from over 1,680 nominees, the finalists are now vying to be named State Winners in the country’s biggest early years’ education awards.
The Australian Early Education and Care Awards is now in its 14th year, with over $85,000 in prizes, including more than $40,000 in training and professional development grants.
Nominations received from family, friends, colleagues and parents with children in care are accepted across all private and community program types and are open to all levels of experience and qualification.
This year’s finalists are now required to demonstrate to the judging panel their achievements in practice and commitment to improving the well-being of the children, improving the children’s program, improving the early childhood service, ongoing professional learning and development, and improving inclusive interactions and partnerships with families.
Each of these five key areas are aligned with the National Quality Standards.
The national winners of each category will be announced at the Australian Early Education and Care Awards Gala Event on June 15.
