The Wyong Drama Group have started preparing their next production, The End of the Line, scheduled for performances in May.
The End of the Line is the prequel to the Group’s original production, Sepia Secrets, with both having been written and directed by Group member, Mr Andy Kabanoff. Ms Gabrielle Brooks will also step into the director role for this production. This prequel, set largely during the Russian Revolution, is loosely based on the life of Mr Kabanoff’s grandmother.
Orphaned as a child in 1890s Poland, she achieved prosperity in Imperial Russia, lost most of what she loved in the old Yugoslavia, and lived to a great age in her adopted Australia. It is the life of a woman and her family dramatically affected by world events, having to escape from Russia during the Revolution, and from war-torn Europe after years of German occupation and war. Time is fluid, as an old lady and her granddaughter relive her memories and find humour in the midst of the chaos. A large and talented cast will bring this epic story to life in the Grove Theatre.
