Central Coast Regional Plan 2036–Gateway to the Central Coast
A person could not be forgiven for thinking that this is simply a local affair which only affects the people of Kariong, how wrong they are.
This plan, as it is in the early stages of implementation, will affect all the residents of the lower part of the Central Coast.
Any person who wants to enter or exit the Coast will have to drive through the Gateway.
Yet what do we hear from our Federal Politicians, State Politicians and our Local Councillors?
Nothing.
When, if the present plans go ahead as they very likely will, the traffic is in gridlock at Kariong, peoples’ travel times just to get through this mess double, people have to get up at 4:00am instead of 5:00am to get to work, and they are queuing for half an hour to get home in the evening, perhaps they will think back to this time when they did nothing to protest.
Why should our elected representatives care?
By then, they will be out of office or retired and the ones that follow will have to clean up the mess.
We think we are electing people with vision as our leaders.
No we are electing small minded people with their petty ideas and self-interest.
The Mount Penang Development Plan 2014 needs to be redrawn in consultation with Plan 2036.
Woy Woy Rd needs drastic action taken again in consultation with Plan 2036.
How difficult can this be, and what kudos would the person who was instrumental in doing this have in the eyes of the people of the Central Coast?
