Cyber Security Strategy of benefit to all

Federal Member for Robertson, Ms Lucy Wicks, said the Central Coast community was more cyber secure as the Government marked the one-year launching anniversary of Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy.
“Governments, businesses and individuals all have an important role to ensure Australia’s cyber security,” Ms Wicks said.
“Cybercrime is the most visible and damaging aspect of the cyber threat for the majority of internet users on the Central Coast.
“According to the Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy first annual update, almost two-thirds of organisations in Australia detected a business-interrupting security breach at least once a month last year.
“That’s why the Government is putting more digital cops on the beat and working closely with partners to understand how to counter cybercriminals.
“We have been delivering key initiatives from the Cyber Security Strategy to further enhance cyber security and to position Australia to take advantage of a safer digital world.
“We are also improving education and pathways for young people so they can target a career in the growing field of cyber security,” said Ms Wicks.
