Council leaders will be on hand to answer residents’ questions, ideas and concerns at a third series of pop up engagement stalls.
Council has spoken with almost 1,000 residents at more than 25 pop up stalls since June 2016, and 21 more stalls are planned.
The stalls are a one stop shop where senior Council staff meet with residents in their own neighbourhoods and talk about a vision for the future, answer questions and monitor feedback, so it can be factored into Council’s decision-making processes.
Council Administrator, Mr Ian Reynolds, said he enjoyed the opportunity to meet residents face-to-face, to hear how Council was going and where services could be improved.
“There is clearly a need for these sessions.
“We had 70 people at the first one, so we’re rolling out the next program of pop up stalls right across the Coast so we can engage as widely as possible and hear what people have to say.
“Pop up stalls are a great initiative as it gives residents a chance to express their views or ask questions of myself, Rob and other senior staff in a more relaxed setting.
“This is just one way we are engaging with the community, and I encourage everyone to get as involved as they can in whichever avenue suits them to ensure council delivers the services and programs our community need, want and value,” Mr Reynolds said.
Upcoming March meetings include: March 31: Meet Executive Manager Transition and Business Performance, Ms Janine McKenzie, and Group Leader Assets, Infrastructure and Business, Mr Mike Dowling, from 10am to 12pm at Kincumber Shopping Centre; and March 31: Meet Chief Financial Officer, Mr Steve Naven, and Executive Manager People and Resources, Ms Kellie Reeves, from 1:30pm to 4pm at Green Point Shopping Village.
