Speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly, Ms Shelley Hancock MP, on March 3, announced that a by-election will be held for the electoral districts of Gosford, Manly and North Shore, following the receipt of resignation letters from Ms Kathy Smith, Mr Mike Baird and Ms Jillian Skinner.
“Subsequent upon receipt of the resignations of the previous members elected in the 2015 NSW General Election, I wish to announce that a by-election in the vacant seats of Manly, Gosford and North Shore will be held on April 8,” Ms Hancock said.
“I congratulate all three members for their commendable parliamentary service, representing the people of their respective electorates.
“I extend my very best wishes to their families, and wish each of them well in the next stages of their lives,” Ms Hancock said.
“Consequent to advice received from the Electoral Commission, today I wrote to the Electoral Commissioner, Mr John Schmidt, advising him of my intention to issue writs on March 17, for a by-election to be held on April 8 for these seats, Ms Hancock said.
