Some beaches across the Coast have been closed for the third day running thanks to forecasted wet and wild conditions.
As of March 8, North Avoca, Avoca, Copacabana, Macmasters, Killcare, Ocean and Umina Beaches are all closed.
Central Coast Council advised that these beaches, along with Soldiers Beach and The Entrance Beach, would be closed with rough 4-6 foot swells expected.
Council also advised the conditions were suited to experienced surfers only and that rock fishing was not recommended.
When announcing the closures, Council did not make mention of how conditions would affect The Komunity Project Central Coast Pro, the final leg of the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series, which was to kick off on March 8 and is slotted to conclude on the 12th.
Council have advised that it’s up to the organisers to decide each day on whether the event is to proceed.
