The Hub Youth Entertainment Venue is currently playing host to daily screenings of shortlisted films from the ‘It’s Your Call’ Short Film Awards until Friday, March 20.
The Awards are an hourlong program of the best new short fi lms from across Australia, starring actors who are 55 years and over. Presented by the National Relay Service, ‘It’s Your Call’ celebrates the ongoing contribution older actors make to the Australian Film Industry. Culminating in a free gala event on Thursday, March 19, at Palace Norton Place, Leichhardt; the fi lms will be screened at over 60 community events throughout NSW during Seniors Week. Audiences will have the opportunity to discover the latest up-and-coming talent in Australian cinema and to vote for their favourite fi lm. This year’s fi nalists include ‘Crumble’ starring Roy Billing (Underbelly, Rabbit Proof Fence), ‘Love Song Devotions’ (Offi cial Selection at Melbourne International Film Festival) and the world premiere of ‘Now You See Her ‘ starring Gae l Ballantayne. Screenings began on Monday, March 16, and will be held each day.
