Regional Growth Plan being prepared

The Department of Planning and Environment has started preparing a Regional Growth Plan for the Central Coast.

The plan will consider where new housing and jobs should be located to support the growing and changing population.
The Department is planning to release, for public consultation, a discussion paper which will ask the community to identify the key issues for the Regional Growth Plan to focus on.
A draft plan will be prepared after the discussion paper exhibition and is expected to be exhibited in early 2015 and fi nalised later in 2015.
The Plan will guide the land use, transport and other implications of population growth and other factors such as changing demographics (including our ageing population), climate change, employment, social and economic opportunities and needs.
