Police are investigating an incident at East Gosford on Saturday, June 28, where a man was assaulted and robbed.
About 11:50pm, a 68-year-old man was walking along Fredrick St when he was approached by another man, who demanded that he empty his pockets. When the older man refused, the alleged offender assaulted him, took his wallet and fled, running east on the Central Coast Highway. Emergency Services were called and the injured man was treated by Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Gosford Hospital, to be treated for injuries to his nose.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene. As they continue their investigations, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 178cm tall, aged between 20 and 30, and was seen wearing long pants and a white shirt.
