Off-duty officer fails random breath test

An off-duty police officer has been issued an infringement notice for low-range PCA (Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol) after being stopped on the Central Coast last week.

At about 9pm on Friday, December 30, officers attached to Brisbane Water Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Ocean View Dr at Wamberal for a random breath test.

The driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested after returning a positive reading.

He was taken to Terrigal Police Station where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.078.

The man, who is a senior constable attached to a command within the North West Metropolitan Region, was issued a traffic infringement notice for low range PCA, and had his licence suspended.

His employment status is under review.
