Killcare Surf Life Saving Club’s winter swimmers celebrated a great season at their presentation day lunch recently.
The Frigid Digits swim races from April to August each year and socially for the rest of the year.
Almost 50 members and their partners enjoyed a lunch organised by JoAnn Edwards and Norma Cadwallader.
Unfortunately absent was club stalwart Sue Purcell, who won the Australian Winter Swimmers Championship this year for her age group at the recent Wagga meet.
She had been looking forward to presenting a new trophy named after her partner, Norm Little.
The Norm Little Lane One trophy for always swimming close to the shore was awarded to Tim Folland.
Multiple trophies were presented including to the overall 50 metres Champion of Champions handicapped winner Robyn Pearson and 30 metres Champion of Champions handicapped Peter Harbison, who also picked up the ‘most elegant swimmer’ award.
Jess Biddulph won the open women’s 30 and 50 metres, Flynn Krix won the open men’s 30 metres and Jem Cox the 50 metres.
Juniors also featured strongly with Jamie Ansell winning the boys 10-15 years, Jess Biddulph taking out the girls 30 and 50 metres and Flynn Krix collecting the trophy for the boys 30 and 50 metres.
Artie Cox won the most improved swimmer trophy to a big round of applause.
