Lakes Festival lights up the region

Light Up the Lake at Memorial Park, The Entrance, on November 5

The Lakes Festival kicks off on Friday, November 4 and continues for 10 days offering something for everyone, with a program of sporting, family, cultural, educational, art and live music events on and around the region’s waterways.

The first major event will be Light Up the Lake at Memorial Park, The Entrance, from 4-9pm on Saturday, November 5.

The festival favourite returns this year with a night of entertainment and music featuring headliners Beddy Rays, The Rions, and Le Shiv, as well as plenty of food and drink stalls to choose from and a fireworks display .

The 10-day celebration will see a range of festivals, events and fairs including the SURFSOUNDS beachside festival, Umina Beach, Sunset Social: Latin on the Lake at Long Jetty, the Sustainable Future Festival at Mingara and the Toukley Art and Craft Fair.

Creative activities and art workshops such as Art in the Park, Avoca Waterside Weaving Workshop, Love the Lakes Seafood Cooking Class and the Creative Nature Children’s Corner will also feature.

There will be free outdoor adventures for those looking to get active including the Bouddi Coastal Run, Colour Our Coast fun run, the Women’s Surf Day, SUP Yoga at Budgewoi, Long Jetty and Ettalong Beach, and The Lakes Bike Rides.

For something more leisurely, head to the Breakfast with the Birds event at the Central Coast Wetlands, Pioneer Dairy.

The Lakes Festival is a great opportunity for everyone to get out and about, discover or even rediscover places right on their doorstep, and celebrate with family and friends.
