I am truly shocked that Kibble Park is being considered the focal point for the revitalisation of Gosford.
Has the Government Architect even been there? Has he spent an afternoon in Kibble Park?
The area barely functions as it is. All of the so called boons for the Park, being in a central location, with nearby parking, close to shops, community buildings and public transport, all work against it.
Instead of local families, visitors and CBD workers utilising the Park, it is day in and day out populated by the worst Gosford City has to offer.
Kibble Park is a beacon to all the dropkicks, crooks and sad-sacks that front Gosford Courthouse.
They linger in the Park, waiting for their case to go before the judge, probably because the Imperial Centre’s security moved them on, and
then after being slapped with a good behaviour bond and a fine they’ll never pay, they come back to Kibble Park and just loiter until the 5pm train pulls into Gosford Station.
I have seen more punchups, domestics, screaming matches and obviously drug affected people in Kibble Park in the six months I’ve lived in
Gosford, than I ever saw in my 14 years of living in Sydney.
There’s nothing worse than trying to enjoy your precious 30-minute lunchbreak in peaceful greenspace just for Martha Meth-Head to get into
a screaming match with her boyfriend, Roger Roadrage; and the kids!
The only kids I ever see in the Park are the high school gronks who sit in the park from 8:30am until god knows when, screaming, swearing and just generally being unpleasant human beings.
I’ve seen plenty of these kiddies break into fights and be kicked out of the Imperial as well.
Kibble Park really is a breeding ground for the worst of the worst on the Coast, and no one can tell me otherwise.
I used to wonder why people called Gosford and the Coast, Mt Druitt by the sea. Now I know.
