Work underway on Gallipoli Ave

The affected area

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions this week for work to be carried out on Gallipoli Ave, between Memorial Ave and Banksia St, Blackwall.

Transport for NSW will conduct water main installation works as part of a wider project to improve travel times and safety for all road users.

Work will be carried out from September 24-26 from 7am to 6pm and is expected to take three days to complete, weather permitting.

Single lane and shoulder closures, detours, alternating stop/slow and a 40km/h speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists during work hours.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers.

Gallipoli Ave will be closed between Memorial Ave and Banksia St.

Motorists affected by this closure will have several detour options available, such as Bourke St, Warrigal Rd and Warwick St.

A pedestrian and cyclist detour may be in place during this work.

Pedestrians and cyclists will be redirected via Banksia St to avoid the shared footpath on Barrenjoey Rd.

Signage will be in place to assist pedestrians and cyclists.
