Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called in to help an elderly man on Sunday, September 7, after he sustained facial burns while conducting a pile fire.
NSW Ambulance paramedics and the rescue helicopter critical care medical team treated the man at the Wyong Creek property.
It was reported that the facial burns were sustained from a small explosion while conducting the pile burn.
At about 6pm the man was transported by road to Gosford Hospital for further treatment.
