Three local men snared in Amarok operation

Three Central Coast men with outstanding warrants were among the 550 people charged by police for more than 1,160 offences during a four-day statewide operation targeting domestic and family violence.

Operation Amarok IX ran from February 19-22 involving officers from all police area commands and police districts across NSW, including specialist domestic violence and child protection squads.

Across the four days, 569 people were arrested and charged, with 295 arrest warrants executed.

Police laid 1,162 charges and conducted 1,151 bail compliance checks and 12,382 apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) compliance checks.

There were 424 breaches identified.

Officers conducted 127 firearms prohibition order (FPO) searches, with 57 firearms and 25 weapons seized.

Three men were apprehended on the Central Coast – at The Entrance, Tumbi Umbi and Gorokan.

On Friday, February 21 at about 8.30am the Northern Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team, assisted by Operation Utah officers, went to a hostel at The Entrance where they arrested a 31-year-old man.

Police will allege in court that the man assaulted a woman known to him at a Long Jetty home in April 2023.

He was taken to Wyong Police Station where an outstanding warrant was executed and he was charged with destroy or damage property, common assault (DV), and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.

The man was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court the same day where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Woy Woy Local Court on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

Operation Utah officers and the Northern Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team arrested a 33-year-old man at Tumbi Umbi at 10.30am on Friday, February 21.

He was wanted on three outstanding warrants over alleged domestic violence offences.

The man was taken to Wyong Police Station where the warrants were executed, and he was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court the same day.

He was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Wednesday, March 5.

On Saturday, February 22, officers attached to the Hunter Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team arrested a 61-year-old man at a home in Wallarah Rd, Gorokan.

Police will allege in court that he filmed a woman known him in a bathroom without her consent on Monday, January 24,2022.

Police will further allege the man failed to appear for sentencing in relation to the matter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The man was taken to Wyong Police Station and the outstanding warrant was executed, related to a charge of intentionally record intimate image without consent etc (DV).

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Wyong Local Court on March 13.
