Privilege to attend St Cecilia’s

Readers' forum letters

I’d like to share with you an event that took place at St Cecilia’s Church Wyong on Saturday, November 23 – the installation of the relic of St Cecilia.

St Cecilia is the patron saint of music and poetry and the relic is the blood of St Cecilia on a veil.

I travelled from my local parish in Revesby which was a two-hour drive.

Knowing the relic was donated by St Luke’s Revesby parish secretary Mari Palomores, who was given the relic by a St Josephite nun in the early 1990s, gave me (incentive to) embark on the two-hour drive to St Cecila’s.

I found it an honour and privilege to be a part of the congregation of this service, with the choir singing right beside me and the local school being involved in the service as well as priests and bishops from the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay.
