Central Coast Mariners has signed two-time Women’s Super League winner Brooke Nunn, with the forward joining the club from Hibernian FC ahead of the upcoming season.
The versatile forward, who can also play in the midfield, arrives on the Coast with serious pedigree and experience, playing all over Europe during her professional career so far of more than a decade.
A product of Arsenal Academy, the experienced forward has previously played for Arsenal, Turkish Super League side Altay S.K Women, English Championship teams London Bees and London City Lionesses, as well as Scottish outfits Hibernian and Motherwell.
Born in London, Nunn spent numerous years on the books of Arsenal women, picking up a number of trophies along the way.
Named in their Champions League squad in 2011 as a teenager, Nunn won the Women’s Super League in both 2011 and 2012.
During her stay with the Gunners, she also collected two Women’s FA Cups, as well as two Women’s League Cups.
Before the start of the 2018/19 season, Nunn went in search of a new challenge, signing for English Championship club London Bees.
She spent three seasons with the team, helping them to their best ever finish in the competition during the 2019/20 campaign.
Next for Nunn was a stint with the London City Lionesses, again helping them to their best ever finish in the championship during the 2021/22 season, second place behind League winners Liverpool.
A move to Altay S.K Women in Turkey followed, before spending 18 months with Hibernian, which included a short loan at Motherwell.
Nunn now arrives on the Coast to test herself in a new league, eager for a huge season in yellow and navy.
“I am super excited for this new challenge in my career with the Central Coast Mariners,” Nunn said.
“I can’t wait to put on the shirt and play for this team in front of our fans.
“The club has big ambitions, a great long-term vision and a strong work ethic which I am very grateful to be a part of.
“There’s a great family feel between the players, club and the local community, which is something that I am proud to be a part of.
“I am hungry to compete at the top end of the league this season and help push the girls to an even higher finish on the competition table than last year.
“I just can’t wait to get out on our incredible stadium and meet our amazing fans.”
Central Coast Mariners Ninja A-League Head Coach Emily Husband is thrilled to have someone of Nunn’s quality and experience join the squad for the upcoming campaign.
“With the flair and creativity that she has on the ball, she will add a lot to our forward line and midfield as well,” she said.
“Brooke is great in one versus one situations and can pick out a great pass moving forward. I think she will add something special to the squad.
“To have a player of that experience here will be superb for the entire squad. “Coming up through Arsenal’s academy, it speaks volumes of the calibre of player that she is and I have no doubt that she will have a big impact on the group this season.”
