Australia’s cult pioneer of performance art brings her multi-nominated, award winning show to the Art House, Wyong.
Glitta Supernova has never brought her brand of red-light comedy and social commentary to the Central Coast and she is excited to be able to utilise the world-class Art House theatre. “It’s about time professional artists had a place which is on the pulse and provides the facilities any theatre goer would expect,” Ms Supernova said.
Ms Supernova promises psychedelic, satirical, personal, and political story telling, a hybrid of bent burlesque and experimental theatre that’s packed to the rafters with puns, punches and possibilities called Body Map. “Navigating who we are has never been tougher, access is blocked with the promise of beauty and perfection,” she said. “The personal highway to our soul is in multilane gridlock, diversions to the self are at every exit.
“Body Map is an overview into an authentic human experience, a fun nudie run through a different lens with tales of the 80s and 90s, Sydney’s subculture and beyond.” Glitta Supernova has just returned from the Dunedin Fringe Festival in New Zealand where she was awarded Best in Fringe in 2017, Best Cabaret 2017 and Most Outstanding Performer. She then premiered to sell-out crowds in Perth in February and at the Sydney Mardi Gras in March. Body Map will be performed at The Art House, Wyong, for one night only, Saturday, April 22 from 8:00pm.
