Celebrate Bastille Day at Avoca Beach Theatre

Emma Hamilton

Celebrate Bastille Day on July 13 at Avoca Beach Theatre with an evening in Paris featuring songs from Edith Piaff, Charles Trenet, Aznnavour and more, performed by French/Australian singer Emma Hamilton.

Hamilton will be performing all the songs from her sold-out London West End show with her
raspy enveloping voice transporting the audience to another era.

Since the release of her triumphant debut album La Musique, Hamilton has toured the world, not only opening for guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel, but enticing audiences with her own blend of French and jazz-inspired music.

Hamilton is a full-time professional musician working across Australia and internationally, alongside her pianist brother Thomas who will also accompany her at the Avoca Beach Theatre show.

“We both started as young kids in our father’s Australiana band, who was also a professional musician, which is where we developed our skills and training, learning from some of Australia’s finest musicians,” Hamilton said.

“My debut album was on ABC/Universal and it opened many doors for me including an international tour of Europe and Russia opening for the guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel.”

In 2015, Hamilton relocated to London where she held a lucrative residency at Brasserie Zedel at Piccadilly Circus leading a five-piece band of London’s finest musicians.

During this time, she was a regular session singer for producer Guy Chambers and toured the UK opening for X-Factor winner Matt Cardle.

She performed at many landmark jazz venues in London, selling out shows at Pizza Express, Crazy Coq’s, London Cabaret Festival, and even joining forces for Mardi Gras with London’s hippest young jazz outfit, Kansas Smitty’s.

Hamilton can also be found regularly performing in concert halls around the Baltics where she holds a dedicated audience and is also a favourite performing on music cruise ships around the world.

Her charisma and humour on stage, coupled with her energy and proficiency on both accordion and piano, combine to create a most unique and complete artist.

The Avoca Beach Theatre show, on July 13 at 7pm, has been designed to elevate the senses, taking the audience to another time and place, sure to leave them humming the songs for the rest of the week.
