The Central Coast Branch of the Friends of the ABC will host a talk by Melbourne-based journalist and Friends’ National Campaign Manager, Jeff Waters.
The function will be held at the Central Coast Leagues Club in Gosford on Wednesday, April 12.
Mr Waters will speak about the many changes happening at the ABC and the difficulties associated with them.
He became the National Campaign Manager for the ABC Friends early in 2016.
He was the first major Australian video journalist to work in Europe, providing footage for all Australian television networks.
He has worked in remote regions of Australia for the ABC’s Landline and 7:30 programs.
From 2006 to 2014, Mr Waters was a senior journalist with ABC News, based in Melbourne.
He is the author of two books: ‘Gone for a Song: A Death in Custody on Palm Island’; and, ‘Every Beat of my Heart: An ABC Journalist’s Journey from Death’.
The event will take place from 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start and bookings and pre-payment are essential.
