Free microchipping day

Free microchipping will be available at Erina and Charmhaven on April 13

Central Coast Council will host a free microchipping day at the Erina and Charmhaven Animal Care Facilities on Saturday, April 13, in partnership with its contractor SoCares.

Pet owners in the community are encouraged to go along and have their pets microchipped, or relevant registration details updated on the day, free of charge.

Those in attendance can also access pet ownership advice and educational material and pick up a Happy Pet Pack of products.

The events will take place from 8.30am-2.30pm at the SoCares Central Coast Animal Facilities in Pateman Rd, Erina, and 2 Depot Rd, Charmhaven.

Registrations to attend are not required.

Council has reminded residents that microchipping and registrations are an important and legal requirement when owning a pet, and help to ensure companion animals can be reunited with their owners, should they become lost.

It also helps animal care facilities to locate owners of animals and rehome lost pets.

Pet registration is available on the day, but there is a cost associated with this.
