Central Coast rugby league had its biggest day of the season at Morrie Breen Field last Saturday, September 20, when the home ground of the Wyong Roos was used to host senior grand final day.
While the Kincumber Colts won the First Grade Men’s grand final against Toulkey, the Wyong Roos had three teams in the six finals contested on the day – the Women’s Tackle, Open Age and Reserve Grade sides.
Both the Women’s Tackle and Opens secured their respective titles before Reserve Grade fell just four points short in a hotly contested game with Entrance Tigers which went right down to the wire in a 14-18 win to the Tigers.
In the Women’s Tackle game another dominant display against Budgewoi Bulldogs resulted in a 24-12 win to the Roos.
The Open Age game saw another powerful performance when the Roos overcame the Kincumber Colts 30–18.

Olivia Glanville got Player of the Final in Women’s Tackle whilst Kodi Costello got Player of the Final in Opens.
Overall, it has been a great year for the Roos, with six of their senior teams reaching the finals this season.
This is the first time this has happened since the 1970s.
In other games on grand final day: in first grade, Kincumber Colts claimed the title from Toukley in a close fought 18-12 victory; Erina prevailed over Terrigal 14-0 in the Ladies League Tag; and in the U19s, the Kincumber Colts were victorious over Erina 26-8.
