Sporting organisations in the Gosford electorate can share in up to $50,000 set aside for the region under the NSW Government’s $4.65M Local Sport Grant Program.
The program provides grants for facility upgrades, new equipment and programs that support and encourage participation and active recreation.
Last year, Gosford Kariong Storm Rugby League Football Club received $5,056 for training equipment and a tracking camera through the program and the Gosford Water Polo Club was awarded $8,716.
Grants of $2,000 to $20,000 are available, with $50,000 up for grabs in each electorate.
Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch said the program was all about ensuring that local sports groups could grow and thrive.
“The grants are all about the grassroots; organisations that play such an important role in growing local sport and participation,” she said.
“This vital funding helps our local clubs and their many volunteers to provide more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy the benefits of active recreation.

“With the critical role sport plays in keeping people healthy, active and socially connected, this funding is vital to community health, wellbeing and sense of identity.”
Last year the Local Sport Grant Program injected $4.4M into community sport across NSW through funding for 579 projects.
Applications close at 1pm on Monday, August 18, with further information, including program guidelines available at www.sport.nsw.gov.au/local-sport-grant-program
