The Coast’s own Little Creek Cheese entered eight cheeses and walked away with eight awards at the prestigious Australian Dairy Products awards, held recently in Melbourne.
The standout in the competition was Little Creek’s haloumi, which won a gold.
The labna, marinated fetta and six club cheddars all received silver.
“We are so proud to represent the Central Coast in cheesemaking and produce results like this every time,” owner and cheesemaker Sue Parsons said.
“I really would like to thank all the people and local businesses who believe in us and support us.”
Little Creek Cheese has been operating in Wyong for more than 14 years and has survived the ups and downs all businesses have felt during that time.
They produce a wide range of cheeses available for tasting at their factory.
The past year-and-a-half has been tough on the local family with some major health issues, but Parsons’ son Alex has stepped up and is hands on.
“If you love haloumi and haven’t tried ours, you’re missing out big time and even the judges agree,” Alex said.
Little Creek Cheese is located in the Old Wyong Milk Factory, 141 Alison Rd, and open seven days a week.
