A man faced Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, June 17, in relation to charges over a stabbing in Woy Woy the day before.
Emergency services responded to reports of a woman being stabbed just after 5.15am on Monday, June 16, at a property in Bowden Rd, Woy Woy.
On arrival, officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District and paramedics from NSW Ambulance located a 49-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds.
The woman was treated for her injuries at the scene before being taken to Gosford Hospital.
She was then flown to Royal North Shore Hospital for further treatment.
A crime scene was established at the location and an investigation into the incident commenced.
Just hours later, at 7.25am on Monday, a 21-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta bus station.
He was taken to Parramatta Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, June 17.
Police alleged in court that the two are known to each other.
