Emergency services have located a body believed to be that of a missing elderly woman from Ettalong, following a two-day search across southern Central Coast suburbs.
The 79-year-old was last seen around 1pm on Thursday, May 8, walking along Ocean View Road in Ettalong Beach.
After she could not be reached or located, her disappearance was reported to police, prompting a search coordinated by officers from Brisbane Water Police District.
The search concluded just after midday, Saturday May 10, when a woman’s body was discovered at Iron Ladder Beach, a remote stretch near Box Head within Bouddi National Park.
Formal identification is yet to be confirmed, but police believe the body to be that of the missing woman. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s disappearance and death.
