Woolworths plan a travesty

Readers' forum letters

I’d like to prevent the beautiful and pristine natural habitat that is Kincumber foreshore wetland from being redeveloped by Woolworths.

The threatened wetland development at Kincumber is a travesty.

It’s wrong on every level.

People’s way of life is more important than yet another retail store development.

The wetland is a crucial habitat for many species of flora and fauna and having the bush remain intact so close to Kincumber village gives the suburb a unique character.

A Woolworths is not needed.

If the people cared for it for 10000 years they can care for it another 10000.
    Don’t touch foreshore land.

I assume that that position is the block with lots of trees between the Hotel and the main lots of houses.
Many wonderful birds and animals would be using this area for homes.
We should not be disturbing an area like this just to place a Woolworths for the Billionaire owner company.
Kincumber has a very neat shopping area that provides a fantastic range of shops and products. I,m certain most locals would not be pushing for this installation of a huge shop which would actually be a considerable distance on the opposite side of a very heavily trafficked far away from the excellent existent shopping centre which has a great parking area with good access and exits.

I have placed my comment above and briefly again it,s to far away over a very busy road from an excellent existing well provided shopping centre with a great carpark area an good entrances and exits No real reasons to install it except in the minds of billionaire shop owners.
I’m certain locals would not promote having it at all.
