Motorcycle pursuit in Gosford ends in arrest

A man has been charged following a pursuit on the Central Coast on Friday, January 3.

At about 1.20pm, officers attached to Police Transport Command were patrolling Mann St, Gosford, when they attempted to stop a person riding a motorcycle without a number plate.

When the rider failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit, conducted with the assistance of PolAir, continued to the intersection of Central Coast Hwy and Brisbane Water Dr, West Gosford.

A short time later, the pursuit was terminated when the rider fell from the motorcycle and allegedly ran from the scene.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man on the Central Coast Hwy, West Gosford.

He was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with: police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly; use registerable vehicle not display authorised number-plate; drive motor vehicle while licence suspended; and not give particulars to other driver.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on January 4.
