All Snowball and Pudding want for Christmas is a new home.
The two long-term residents of the Behaviour and Rehabilitation Centre (BARC) at Somersby are hoping their Christmas wish comes true.
Snowball, a three-year-old male Ragdoll and Pudding, a sweet two-year-old domestic short-haired female, have been waiting patiently for a family to call their own for just shy of 200 days each.
“Snowball and Pudding are officially our long-termers, and, while they’re adored by staff, they truly deserve a home to call their own this Christmas,” BARC Feline Behaviour Trainer Amber Logan-Jones said.
“They each have unique personalities that would bring so much joy to the right family.
“Snowball is a sweet boy that loves his food and curling up on your lap for some gentle pats and Pudding is a really sweet girl as well.
“She was a bit shy on arrival, but has come so far and is very energetic and playful once she is comfortable and knows she is safe.”
Both cats would be perfect for a home that is on the calmer side with older children.
Logan-Jones, a Central Coast local, has recently been promoted to oversee feline behaviour for all RSPCA NSW shelters over the coming months.
Her expertise and passion for cats like Snowball and Pudding has transformed the lives of many felines who have called BARC home, as well as the lives of their adopters.
This holiday season, BARC is also urgently seeking foster carers to provide temporary homes for animals in need.
“Fostering can make a huge difference to the lives of our animals in care,” Logan-Jones said.
“Even a short-term commitment whilst some of our regular carers are away helps to relieve the pressure on our shelters and provide these animals with a much-needed break over the holiday period.
“As more people are at home, the holidays are a perfect time to welcome a furry friend into your life.
“It can also be perfect for people to trial if they are ready for the commitment of pet whilst doing something positive for animals in need.
“With kitten season in full swing, our shelter is at capacity with cats and kittens needing a loving permanent or temporary home, as well as dogs and puppies.”
