Brentwood Village donation welcomed by cancer unit

Brentwood Village residents donated a vital signs monitor to Cancer Day Unit

Residents of Brentwood Village at Kincumber have donated a vital signs monitor to be used in Gosford Hospital’s Cancer Day Unit.

Cancer Day Unit nurse unit manager Madeleine Papeix said the donation would benefit local cancer patients having treatment in the unit.

“We use the vital signs monitors to undertake important observations of our patients,” Papeix said.

“This includes checking their blood pressure, heart rate, temperature and oxygen saturation which is a measurement of the amount of oxygen in their blood.”

The residents are regular supporters of Central Coast Local Health District’s Cancer Services, raising money at their annual Big Morning Tea and other fundraisers held at the village throughout the year.

“Since 2018 the residents of Brentwood Village have donated almost $22,000 to Cancer Services which has been used to purchase equipment to enhance the care and comfort we provide patients,” Papeix said.

“On behalf of our team I would like to thank the residents for their generosity and the hard work they put into organising their fundraisers.”
