Rachel Stanton, a Berkeley Vale local and a prominent construction lawyer, is standing for the Liberal Party in the Central Coast Council elections.
Stanton says she has a strong professional background in major projects and construction law, and has been instrumental in delivering major transport, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects across both public and private sectors.
“Our community deserves better roads and enhanced facilities,” she said.
“Residents should not have to drive in fear of potholes, and improving our basic infrastructure must be of utmost importance.
“It is the most frequently concern raised among residents.”
Stanton’s platform centres on revitalising The Entrance.
She believes that enhancing basic infrastructure, such as walkways and footpaths, is essential for ease of movement, promoting safety, and encouraging residents to enjoy the area’s natural beauty.
Stanton says that she is also passionate about supporting young people in the region.
She says that she has been actively involved as an advisor to local youth organisations and serves on a large local committee in Berkeley Vale.
Drawing from her experience in these roles, Stanton says she has gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by Central Coast households, such as rising living costs and council rate increases.
She also calls for expanding the night-time economy and increasing support services for the community’s most vulnerable members.
Stanton aims to bring her professional skills and dedication to the council chamber if elected, pledging to be a strong voice for the Central Coast community.
“I will ensure that infrastructure and better support for the forgotten members of our community remain a critical focus of the next council,” she said.
