The Central Coast’s number one radio station Star 104.5 celebrates its 20th anniversary on Friday, March 15.
The station will mark the milestone with a special celebration on Friday night to thank Star 104.5 staff, clients and partners for their support over the past 20 years.
Hosted by Star 104.5 breakfast duo Gina Jeffreys and Matt Baseley, the event will feature an exclusive live performance by best-selling artist Samantha Jade.
Since launching in 2004, Star 104.5 has served the Central Coast community as a trusted source of news and entertainment and has remained committed to its mission of connecting with its local audience.
From the station’s first year on air when Nova’s very own Smallzy hosted his first radio show, the Star Nights – which ran for three years – through to the present day, the station has always taken pride in “being made on the Coast for the Coast” with all content produced locally from the Erina studios.
“It is a privilege to be part of the Star team, who for over 20 years have played a pivotal role in our wonderful Central Coast community,” Commercial Director and Market Lead Paul Moltzen said.
“From day one, our ambition has been to make a difference to our community, businesses and our audience and every day our objective remains the same.
“We are extremely proud of the impact a small group of locals are able to have on the everyday lives of so many.
“And we will endeavour to do the same for many years to come.
“Thank you to all who have played a part in our journey.
“As we say – we take what we do seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.”
Star 104.5 has for the past four years held the position as the Central Coast’s number one radios station which is testament to its dedication to providing quality programming tailored to its audience.
Additionally, the station is the exclusive media partner of the Central Coast Mariners, the region’s only national sports team.
Throughout the years, Star 104.5 has actively participated in various community initiatives, including delivering Christmas toys to local families, sponsoring local sporting clubs and community events like the Long Jetty Festival and supporting the Cancer Council’s Stars of the Central Coast which has raised over $1.1M over the past decade.
