I am very concerned about land clearing and poorly designed housing estates spreading on the Central Coast, for example at Hue Hue Rd, Buttonderry, and Dora St in Doyalson.
Houses are far too close to each other with poor built-in cooling and large paved areas.
They are designed for air conditioning, a significant contributor to energy consumption.
Trees are being destroyed, so these estates will suffer flooding as there will be nowhere for run-off to go during major storms.
And what about the birds and animals who will die due to land clearing?
We need good planning, and good quality medium-density housing with lots of green public spaces.
