Holy Cross students spread Christmas cheer

Holy Cross Kincumber Primary School students with the Waterford Retirement Village residents committee

In the last week of school term for 2022, students from Holy Cross Catholic Primary School at Kincumber spread a little festive cheer at Waterford Retirement village, delivering more than 300 handmade Christmas cards.

Each resident at the village will receive personalised card from Holy Cross students.

“This is something the children put a lot of love and care into creating for their neighbours every year, and they are always very warmly received,” a spokesperson said.

“Waterford Retirement Village residents committee couldn’t wait to hand these out.”

A committee spokesperson said a lot of residents don’t have family.

“Receiving these cards brightens their day enormously,” the spokesperson said.

“Some people are still telling jokes they received in their cards from the students last year.”

The school’s SRC and Mission Team members Eva, Neve, Imogen, Grace, Oliver and Annalise represented the school community at the very special moment of giving.

Holy Cross Catholic Primary School is located at 37 Kincumber St, Kincumber.
