Master of song in acoustic show at Avoca

Paul Capsis

Paul Capsis will leave microphones and costumes behind in his first ever solo acoustic performance when he makes his debut with The Song Company an intimate and moving recital at Avoca Beach on July 15.

With Song Company Associate Artistic Director Francis Greep on piano, Capsis will take the audiences on a gritty musical journey that begins in the streets of 1930s Berlin with the music of Kurt Weill (The Threepenny Opera) and John Kander (Cabaret).

The show, Dry My Tears, will include music by Richard Rogers, Elton John and Billy Joel along with ragtime songs by Melody Gardot and Johnny Mercer.

The Song Company is Australia’s leading professional vocal ensemble.

Unique in its stylistic diversity with a repertoire spanning from the 9th century to today, the company brings together the country’s finest voices in innovative performances, artistic development, educational outreach, and collaborative music making across art forms.

The Avoca Beach show starts at 7pm.
