The Roving Rubies combined a 95th birthday celebration for member Betty Lloyd with their annual Big Cuppa fundraiser at Everglades Golf Club recently, raising more than $1,000 for cancer research.
“We were thrilled to have Service NSW come to interview us and photograph us for the upcoming Digital Warriors advertising campaign,” Queen Lilimarlene said.
“They will be using us as example for the oldies to get out and use the dine and discover vouchers before they expire at the end of June – you might see us on TV.
“They are trying to entice seniors to put the apps on their phones to access the vouchers.”
