New members welcome to join outriggers

OUTRIGGING –

The Central Coast Outrigger Canoe Club (CCOCC) is currently recruiting new members to join its crew.

Crews currently depart from Woy Woy and Patonga midweek and during the weekend.

The club said they are looking forward to introducing the sport of outrigging to all aged 18 and over.

Club member, Gary Machin, said outrigging helps bring social and fitness benefits to all who participate.

“We are very fortunate to be surrounded by many bodies of water,” Machin said.

“Depending on conditions, we can train not only in our local waters but also in the Hawkesbury River, Cowan Creek and Pittwater.”

Novices and experienced paddlers are also welcomed to join and participate in competitions throughout NSW.
