Australian of the year, Grace Tame who was due to speak in Terrigal this Saturday has advised that she will be unable to attend due to new COVID restrictions in Tasmania.

The Central Coast Domestic Violence Committee has been advised that due to very recent changes made by the Tasmanian Government to their Covid travel restrictions following the emergence of the omicron variant of Covid, Australian of the Year Grace Tame will not be allowed to return to Tasmania following her visit to the Central Coast of NSW to give her Keynote address at our dinner event. Exemptions were applied for and unfortunately denied.

Sharon Walsh, Vice Chair of the Central Coast Domestic Violence Committee said,

“Despite being devastated by this news, we have worked hard with Grace and Crowne Plaza to still bring you this event with Grace presenting her address virtually, complemented by a mediated question and answer session with Grace Tame.

“This virtual event will replicate Grace attending in person and will provide a connected experience.

Sharon Walsh

“Ultimately, I am confident that while I know you will all be disappointed at the news that Grace will not be with us in person on the night, she WILL be with us. Both she and her partner Max, are extremely passionate, authentic and committed to the cause. Her address will be powerful and not to be missed.”
