The Central Coast’s Nicola McDermott has once again created athletics history, this time in Scandinavia.

The Tascott local has set a new PB after breaking the Australian high jump record – clearing 2.01 metres at the Diamond League in Stockholm. It comes just weeks away from the biggest meet of her life – Tokyo 2021.

Fellow Australian Eleanor Patterson placed third in the event at 1.96. Ukrainian Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the event with a world leading jump of 2.03 on her second attempt.
