Local bus and train routes compromised by COVID case

UPDATE: A confirmed COVID case from Sydney visited the Central Coast during their infectious period last Friday. Central Coast Local Health District is now advising the community of the public transport routes that is associated with a confirmed case.

Anyone who travelled on the following bus and train routes on the date and times listed below is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result, and call 1800 943 553 unless they have already been contacted by NSW Health. Please get tested even if you have had a test in recent days:

  • Route 25 – Tuggerah Station to Bateau Bay Square on Friday, 23 July from 1.58pm to2.35pm.
  • Route 21 – Lions Park, Central Coast Highway, Long Jetty to Gosford Train Station, Stand N on Friday, 23 July from 3:41pm to 4:30pm.
  • Central Coast Newcastle Line – From Strathfield to Tuggerah, Friday 23 July 12.31pm – 1.50pm
  • Central Coast Newcastle Line – From Gosford to Central, Friday 23 July 4.32pm – 5.58pm

Investigations are continuing to determine any other transport routes used by this confirmed case.

We are also advising the community that the 7-Eleven Service Station located at 475 The Entrance Road, Long Jetty has been identified as a COVID-19 exposure site.

Anyone who attended the 7-Eleven at Long Jetty on Friday 23 July from 3.15pm to 3.35 pm is a casual contact who must immediately get tested and isolate until a negative result is received.

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, get tested immediately and isolate until you receive a negative result.

    How does someone “unwittingly” leave their lga in Sydney ( who are in lockdown) & catch a train, a bus, another bus & another train? Why did they think it was ok to travel in the first place? It just flabbergastes me! Please stay put & tell your family & friends not to come to you.
