Holiday parks to get a make over

Holiday parks at Canton Beach, Toowoon Bay, Norah Head and Budgewoi will see a range of improvements over the next four years, totalling $5.35M.

Central Coast Council has allocated a steady stream of funding in its 2021-2025 four-year Operational Plan, starting with $1.5M in the 2021-22 financial year.

All monies are coming from Council’s Restricted Funds.

Cabins at the Council owned holiday parks will be renovated over the four years at a total cost $1.92M with Toowoon Bay allocated $600,000, Norah Head $480,000, Canton Beach $440,000, and Budgewoi $400,000.

Guest facilities will also have a $1.76M upgrade with each of the parks getting a $440,000 financial boost spread over the four years.

Other work in 2021-22 includes design and replacement of streetlights at Norah Head, costing $200,000, and at Canton Beach for $180,000, while road upgrades at Toowoon Bay will cost $60,000 and at Budgewoi $30,000.

New streetlights at Budgewoi will go in during 2022-23 and at Toowoon Bay in 2023-24, with each project costing $210,000.

Over the four-year Budget period, Council has also allocated $195,000 reactive capital renewal for each of the four holiday parks to take care of any unplanned repairs or replacements.
