Coastal Twist prepares for Mardi Gras with a difference

One of the 2021 Mardi Gras Costume making sessions in Gosford.

Coastal Twist Festival and Central Coast Pride has been successful with their 2021 entry and theme for the 2021 Mardi Gras Sydney Cricket Ground Parade.

Preparations are now underway for the event with local costume and puppet workshops being held in Gosford and Woy Woy.

The Mardi Gras will go ahead in a new form designed to be COVID safe. No floats or commercial trailers will be allowed this year and numbers at the event will be heavily limited.

Under the SCG’s current COVID exemption, Mardi Gras can have an audience of up to 23,000 join us at the live event which they hope to be able to increase if there’s further relaxation of guidelines come March.

Sadly general public tickets for the 2021 Mardi Gras Parade are now exhausted. Though parade broadcast partner SBS will stream the event live so everyone from across Australia and around the world can also tune-in to be a part of the celebrations from home.

A handful of spots left so get yourself signed up for our coastal waters theme as we RISE alongside a new COVID world order – we are resilient, and shall continue to love, play and contribute to a better planet for everyone.

There is a only handful of spots left on the Coastal Twist Festival at the time of writing – aka if you want to be in the Parade with us please fill out your expression of interest form:https://coastaltwist.org.au/2021-mardi-gras
