Keeping war-affected children warm

CWA members with the hot water bottle covers

CWA of Umina Beach members donated home knitted hot water bottle covers to children in war-affected countries on November 18.

Aussie Knitters for War Affected Kids (AKWAK) representative Jennifer Loupis visited the club to accept the donation along with a large container of clothes.

CWA of Umina Beach Publicity Officer Margy Logan said the children lived in camps that were covered in snow during winter.

“We had a visit from Jennifer so that we could present her with our home knitted hot water bottle covers,” Logan said.

“These will be sent along with other things put together by AKWAK to camps in war-torn areas where many children spend the winter in the snow without adequate warmth.”
