Horse rescued from dam

Rescue crews were called out in torrential rain on Sunday, December 20, to rescue a horse stuck in a dam at Warnervale.

Volunteers from Warnervale and Wadalba Rural Fire Brigades and Central Coast Rescue Squad were called out just before 9am.

The horse had been stuck in the dam overnight and was exhausted after trying to free himself.

Crews managed to use large animal rescue slings to assist hauling him out of the water and mud to safety.

A local vet was on the scene to give the horse a check over after his ordeal.
