It’s beyond belief how Central Coast Council has amassed such a massive deficit of about $89M in such a short time that they have been in office. (Chronicle, Oct 7, page 1)
This deficit is even after considering the amount of growth we have experienced and how new development pays the way.
Hopefully, the Office of Local Government will take over from this lot before we are broke.
It’s a pity that the Council elections were postponed for 12 months due to COVID-19 as it can only get worse.
Also, let’s not forget the selfish wage increase that the councillors took when times were bad.
It’s unbelievable.
