Children’s and young adult author, Andrew McDonald, will be the highlight of the next Library Online event on Thursday, August 6.
McDonald, a regular presenter on the Australian schools’ circuit, burst on to the scene in 2009 with his debut work, The Greatest Blogger in the World.
This was followed by Son of Death, a dark comedy about a family of modern grim reapers that was named one of the Best Books of the Year by The Age in 2015.
McDonald is an avid reader of children’s and young adult literature and is perhaps most well known for his Real Pigeons series that debuted in 2018.
Featuring hilarious illustrations by Ben Wood, the series follows four crime fighting pigeons who’ll do anything to solve a mystery and keep their city safe.
With a natural gift to communicate big ideas while keeping audiences engaged, McDonald will talk about writing funny stories, creating memorable characters, using language to your advantage, the power of books and other writing tips.
