Thank you, kind stranger

Letters to the editor

[Forum] I was standing isolated in the queue at a Point Clare supermarket waiting for my goods to travel along the conveyor when I suddenly realised that I had left my wallet in the car.

I quickly stacked the three items on the shelf adjacent to the conveyer, and rushed out to get my wallet and as I returned to collect my goods, the stranger who was in front of me in the queue handed them to me with a smile and said something like “these are yours”.

When I motioned to him to repay him the money, he just smiled once more and walked away.

I was completely overwhelmed.

That event will stay with me till the day I die, and I have no idea how to express my thanks to the anonymous person who showed such selfless generosity.

Despite COVID-19 or maybe because of it, there are demonstrations that we do have wonderful people in our Central Coast community.

Life is good.
